Semiconductor producers agree to 10% cut in PFC emissions by 2010

A target to reduce emissions of the powerful greenhouse gases perfluorocarbons (PFCs) from semiconductor manufacturing by 10% by 2010 has been agreed by the industry's trade bodies in the EC, USA, Japan and South Korea. It has yet to be decided whether the target will be adopted by each of the four organisations and the level of reductions required from UK plants.
