BP Amoco: Learning to live with a CO2 ceiling
BP was the first major company to launch an experimental carbon dioxide trading scheme - and backed it with a demanding commitment to cut its emissions by 10% by 2010. Trading began late last year, and valuable lessons have been learned for the design of a group-wide scheme. A culture shift within the enlarged BP Amoco group is now on its way - and next year, when the scheme is rolled out to all its business units, should see it accelerate.
