Philips replaces plastics with board for disposable packaging

Dutch electronics giant Philips is switching from plastic to cardboard for its disposable packaging as part of a drive to incorporate "material recycling efficiency" in the design of its products. The concept is one of the main goals of the company's eco-design programme, which is being expanded to cover a quarter of its product range by next year.
