Draft IPPC regulations set out implementation timetable

Long-overdue draft regulations to implement the 1996 EC Directive on integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) were issued in August. For the first time, the Government has set out a comprehensive list of activities that will be covered by the new regime, together with a proposed timetable for phasing in existing installations.
