DETR moves cautiously on national eco-labelling scheme

The Government is to commission feasibility studies of the effectiveness of different types of eco-labelling schemes which have had some success in different markets, according to its response to the House of Commons Environment Committee's report on consumer products and the environment. 1 The results will be assessed by the new Advisory Committee on Consumer Products and the Environment, due to be announced in September.
