Pilot feedstock recyclingplant for PVC

Construction of Europe's first pilot feedstock recycling plant for PVC will begin later this year at Solvay's Tavaux site in eastern France. The 3 million euro project is being funded by the ten PVC manufacturers belonging to the European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers (ECVM), who hope the process, if successful, will provide an additional outlet for recycling PVC and alleviate pressure on its poor environmental image. According to ECVM, the recycling rate for PVC in western Europe is just 4-6%.
