Refrigeration firm escapes with £9,000 fine after ammonia incident

A refrigeration firm and its managing director were fined only £9,000 after admitting causing pollution which killed 11,000 fish and inflicted discomfort on local residents and Environment Agency inspectors. Others convicted of water pollution offences recently include Anglian Water, Thames Water and Transorganics.
