DWI reassures on disinfection by-products

The Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) has reassured water companies over the health effects of chlorination by-products in water. The DWI wrote to water companies in July following advice from the Department of Health (DoH). Reviews by two of the Department's expert committees have concluded that there is insufficient evidence linking chlorination by-products with cancer and spontaneous abortion.
