UK loses chemical waste incinerator amid "cemfuel" growth

One of the UK's four merchant incinerators for chemical wastes, at Killamarsh near Sheffield, has been closed. The operator, Sarp, cited public concern and depressed demand as reasons for the decision. The site is the subject of local protests and a high-profile Environment Agency prosecution.
