Iceland bans genetically modified ingredients from own-brands

Iceland has become the first supermarket chain in Europe to guarantee that none of its own-brand products will contain genetically modified (GM) ingredients - and at no extra cost to consumers. Most other food retailers appear to have abandoned attempts to secure significant supplies of non-GM crops or ingredients.
