Green light for £350 million Dounreay clean-up

The Government has given the go-ahead for a major clean-up operation at the UK Atomic Energy Authority's Dounreay site in the north of Scotland. The remediation work - the most expensive yet seen in the UK - will involve the retrieval of radioactive waste dumped in an old shaft and, more recently, in a wet silo.
