Boost for green procurement as Shell Expro goes for ISO14001

Shell UK Exploration and Production has decided to seek certification to the ISO14001 or EMAS environmental management standards - spurring a major initiative to green its supply chain. By 2000, it intends that 70% of its annual expenditure of almost £2 billion will go to suppliers certified to the standards - and is seeking to set up environmental "partnerships" with 16 key suppliers.
