Review of agencies' legislation to identify "integration" barriers

A review of the legislation relating to the two environment agencies was announced by the Government in April. Its purpose is to identify barriers preventing them from taking an "integrated approach to the environment" - but it is unclear whether the goal is to enable them to pursue the "best practicable environmental option" (BPEO) across all their activities, as recommended by the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution.
