£30,000 fine for Caird's exploding waste drum

Chemical waste treatment firm Caird Environmental was fined £30,000 in June for two offences relating to an explosion which projected a drum into an adjacent property. Penalties in other recent waste prosecutions include fines for pollution caused by land spreading of abattoir waste.
