EMAS uptake grows but ISO14001 levels off

Uptake of the environmental management standard ISO14001 appears to be levelling off in the UK - but the last few months have seen a long-awaited increase in the rate of registration under the EC's eco-management and auditing scheme (EMAS). But the scheme is proving unattractive to local authorities, with most councils opting for ISO14001 certification.
