ISO14001 "half-way house" for Exxon and P&G

Exxon and Procter & Gamble have obtained third party statements that their environmental management systems (EMSs), though not certified to the environmental management standard ISO14001, meet its intent. The development has raised concern in parts of the EMS community that further moves in this direction may undermine the standard's credibility.
