Battle backs offshore wind as row brews on 10% renewables target
Energy Minister John Battle has outlined plans to develop up to eight demonstration wind farms at sea as an essential step towards meeting the Government's pre-election target to expand renewable energy capacity. Meanwhile, Greenpeace has seized on a leaked official study which suggests that a more ambitious renewables target is achievable - but electricity regulator Offer is claiming that even the existing target is too costly.
