Insurance premiums will reflect pollution risks more accurately if underwriters adopt a new set of guidelines issued by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) in September. 1 Businesses seeking insurance are to be quizzed on whether they have suffered any pollution incidents or convictions, what hazardous materials they store, and whether they have a certified environmental management system.
