Coalite may be sued over dioxin disposal costs

British Waterways (BW) may decide to sue Coalite Chemicals for the costs of disposing of canal sediments contaminated with dioxins by discharges from the company's Bolsover works. Following a risk assessment of the options, BW has decided to dredge and landfill the most polluted sediments at a cost of up to £1.2 million.
