Pesticide approval system fails to deliver
Calls for faster authorisation of pesticide active ingredients at EC level are increasing, with only two substances entered on the approved list seven years after legislation on pesticide authorisation was adopted. The issue will be addressed by the European Commission in a Communication expected before the end of the year, along with other proposals for future policy on pesticides.
