Iceland dismisses ICI's criticism of hydrocarbon fridges

Electrical appliance retailer Iceland has rebutted claims by ICI, a producer of the HFC greenhouse gases, that its new "Kyoto" range of hydrocarbon fridges and freezers will have a higher global warming impact than "energy efficient" models containing HFCs. Meanwhile, Candy has said that it will start producing hydrocarbon fridges next year - leaving Hotpoint as the only UK manufacturer not to adopt the technology.
