Industry claims electrical waste Directive would cost £2.5bn in UK

Implementation of the proposed EC Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in the UK could cost manufacturers £2 billion per year and retailers another £500 million, according to estimates by the Industry Council for Electronic Equipment Recycling (ICER). Meanwhile, ICER has estimated that the UK is already exceeding the proposed annual target to collect four kilograms of household WEEE per capita.
