Conservation body urges action on eutrophication

The statutory conservation agency English Nature (EN) has called for a large-scale investment programme to tackle eutrophication of aquatic wildlife sites.1 In an attempt to get funding included in the next round of water company investment plans, the group has published target figures which show that average phosphate concentrations in parts of England are over ten times its proposed target levels.
