DoE loses second judicial review over odours from rendering works

For the second time in a year, the High Court has quashed a decision by the Environment Secretary to grant an authorisation to an animal rendering works on appeal. The ruling suggests that the Department of the Environment (DoE) may have to relax the constraints it has imposed on local authorities in regulating industrial odour emissions.
