BRE claims breakthrough in use of recycled aggregates

Recycled aggregates have been used for the first time in the UK in the ready-mixed concrete for a building construction project, according to the Building Research Establishment (BRE). The organisation's aim to maximise the use of recycled materials in a new building at its headquarters significantly reduced the amount of demolition waste sent to landfill - at no extra cost.
