Agency publishes guidance on BPEO assessment

The Environment Agency has finally published its long-awaited guidance for assessing the "best practicable environmental option" (BPEO) for processes regulated under integrated pollution control (IPC).1 However, the methodology is already being overtaken by the Agency's plans to address wider environmental considerations in response to criticisms by the House of Commons Environment Committee.
