  • Chemical companies at Barry, South Wales are collaborating with the Environment Agency in a local air quality monitoring project, to be run by consultants Stanger Science & Environment. The £150,000 project will last initially for a year and was launched in response to concerns expressed by residents and action groups. The data generated will be available through the public register and Community Advisory Panels. Companies participating include BP Chemicals, Cabot Carbon, Dow Chemical, Dow Corning, European Vinyls Corporation, International Speciality Chemicals and National Power Cogen.
