  • The Co-operative Bank claims to be the first bank to offer a preferential banking package to companies which are "committed to producing products which provide solutions to environmental problems or which have a positive ecological impact". Companies' green credentials will be assessed by the bank's ecology unit, which will look for products which "do not rely on such things as rare mineral deposits or long-lived, man-made substances such as certain plastics and pesticides". The package includes lower commission charges, higher interest rates on deposits and reduced loan rates. More on (0161) 832 3456.
