Company news

  • Construction of a £42 million energy from waste incinerator will begin in Dundee later this year after the scheme was awarded a contract under the Scottish Renewables Obligation to sell electricity to Scottish electricity companies. The 8MW plant will be built by Kvaerner and BICC and run by Dundee Energy Recycling, burning 120,000 tonnes of domestic waste a year. It will replace the former Baldovie incinerator which closed in November after repeated breaches of emissions limits (ENDS Report 257, pp 12-13 ).
