Pesticides, chlorchemicals head list of dioxin sources

The manufacture of pesticides and organochlorines and use of products containing pentachlorophenol (PCP) and other biocides are among the main sources of dioxin releases to land and water, according to an Environment Agency report.1 Other major sources include secondary metals plants, incinerators and accidental fires.
