Brussels moves ahead with rules on electronics recycling

A Directive on recovering waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is to be drawn up by the European Commission's Environment Directorate, DGXI. The measure is likely to be modelled on the recent proposal for recovering end-of-life vehicles, with an emphasis on diverting materials containing hazardous substances away from incineration and landfill.
