Royal Commission warns of looming transport crisis
Radical action is needed to prevent the UK's transport system reaching crisis point, the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution has warned in its second report on transport within three years.1 It has called for tough measures to increase fuel efficiency in cars, steep increases in fuel duty, a paid permit system for freight lorries and major investment in public transport.
