Noise and odour complaints rise to new heights
The long-term upward trend in public complaints about noise and odour pollution continued unabated in 1995/6, according to the latest annual report from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).1 Lack of resources also forced local authorities to cut their monitoring of drinking water quality by a quarter.
