Packaging recovery stagnates as EC deadlines loom
Packaging recycling rates showed little improvement in 1996 despite looming targets under EC and UK legislation. The quantity of aluminium packaging recycled fell by 20%, while glass and steel recycling stagnated. Only plastics packaging recycling showed a significant increase - but it remains at a very low level.
