Gaps in packaging data may delay Government review
A lack of adequate data on the packaging flows of companies "obligated" under the packaging regulations may make it more difficult for the Government to fulfil its promise to review the share-out of obligations between the four sectors in the packaging chain by the end of the year. Meanwhile, only two-thirds of the companies estimated to be subject to the regulations had joined a compliance scheme or registered with the environment agencies by late September, weeks after the 31 August deadline.
