Global uptake of ISO14001 shows uneven picture

Some 2,300 certificates to the ISO14001 environmental management standard have now been issued worldwide - with Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and the UK accounting for more than half the total. The USA - a vocal force in diluting key aspects of the standard to make it acceptable to its own industry - lags far behind.
