Seed firm fined £45,000 over pesticide wastes

A Somerset seed firm was fined £45,000 in October for storing waste pesticides in a manner likely to cause pollution of the environment. The prosecution was the second to follow from a serious water pollution incident in 1995 which was caused by a demolition contractor pouring the chemicals into a surface water drain.
