Thames Water faces tight deadline on phosphate removal
Thames Water will soon be told by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) to fit phosphate-stripping technology at up to 67 sewage works. The company may have only a year to comply under the 1991 EC Directive on urban wastewater treatment.
