DETR warns of trouble ahead as air quality regulations arrive

Long-awaited regulations setting out air quality objectives to be attained by 2005 were laid before Parliament in November. The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) has warned that the objectives may dictate more radical changes to transport policies than originally thought.
