Northern Ireland catches up on environmental laws
After a succession of missed deadlines and broken promises, Northern Ireland will shortly have key parts of its environmental legislation aligned with mainland Britain. Two draft Orders considered by Parliament in November will introduce three new systems of industrial pollution control as well as new regimes on waste management, contaminated land and chemicals control.
