Pressure grows on PVC additives, recycling rates

Measures to reduce the environmental impact of PVC additives, especially lead stabilisers and phthalate plasticisers, have been proposed by the Dutch and Danish Governments, while Austria may legislate to ban the use of phthalates in PVC baby toys. The proposals will be studied closely by the European Commission as it considers whether EC-wide measures are needed.
