Agency prepares to harmonise waste licensing standards

The long-promised harmonisation of waste regulation practices across England and Wales will move a step closer on the Environment Agency's second birthday next April with the launch of a new licensing package. But the large volume of technical work in hand is already making the deadline look ambitious. And upgrading of existing licences to meet current standards is some way off.
