Pesticide producers at odds over cost-recovery charges

Changes to the current scheme for recovering the costs of the pesticides approval and monitoring process were mooted in a consultation paper issued jointly by the Pesticides Safety Directorate (PSD) and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on 15 December. Producers of non-agricultural pesticides, already concerned about the costs of new EC rules on biocides, face higher annual payments which would eliminate subsidies for their products paid by the agrochemical industry.
