Interest in BS7750 picks up

Interest in the UK's environmental management standard BS7750 appears to be increasing. The final quarter of 1995 brought a sharp increase in the number of firms certified to the standard, pushing the total over 60. But the UK is falling behind Germany in the EMAS stakes. Meanwhile, UK Accreditation Services (UKAS) has begun accrediting bodies to certify firms which already have BS7750 to the international standard ISO14001, even though it is still in draft form.
