Paints and light bulbs - a tale of two eco-labels

The paint and light bulb industries have adopted radically different approaches to the new EC eco-label criteria for their products. Several paint producers - including, for the first time, a continental supplier - plan to apply for the label. But light bulb manufacturers seem determined to boycott the scheme, claiming that consumers will be better served by the forthcoming EC energy label.
