HMIP urged to find incentives for industry to improve

Changes in the cost-recovery charging scheme operated by HM Inspectorate of Pollution for processes regulated under integrated pollution control (IPC) have been recommended by the HMIP Advisory Committee in its final report.1 The Committee recommends that the charging system, as well as HMIP's check monitoring programme, should be amended to provide financial incentives for operators to improve their environmental management systems.
