EC steps nearer to bridging gap between EMAS and ISO14001
A separate guidance document emerged at an official meeting in January as the most practicable way to bridge the gap between the international environmental management standard ISO14001 and the EC's eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS) without creating trade barriers. But Danish and German officials called for a more binding or "normative" document to safeguard the credibility of the tougher EC scheme.
