Scottish food firm's £60,000 fine for contaminating drinking water
Scottish vegetable producer Kettle Produce was fined £60,000 in December after it admitted polluting the drinking water supply of a Fife village, causing a serious gastroenteritis epidemic which affected over 600 people. The prosecution was unusual in relying on health and safety legislation to penalise a drinking water contamination incident.
