Enforcement notice breaches land Leigh in the dock

Waste management company Leigh Environmental has been fined £7,000 for five offences under integrated pollution control (IPC). HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) brought the prosecution - the first for failure to comply with an IPC enforcement notice - after clandestine visits by inspectors found that Leigh was failing to monitor for soot deposits from its clinical waste incinerator at Dudley in the West Midlands.
