Government under fire over support for environmental industry

The UK's environmental technology industry can expect only limited help from the Government in developing an export strategy, the House of Lords was told during a debate on 13 February. The Government rebuffed claims that it is not doing enough to support the industry - but a recent survey has shown that environmental technology suppliers are highly critical of official schemes intended to support them, and fewer than half have managed to increase their export sales since 1994.
